The KidsFirst!
Child Support Calculator creates child support payment estimates based
upon the formulas provided by the state legislature and accurate
information from each parent. The child support payment estimates
provided by KidsFirst! are only estimates because a judge has total
discretion to increase or decrease the amount of child support. When
considering the exact amount of child support, judges consider
principles of equity, fairness, and hardship plus any significant
expenses.
These calculation formulas are based upon only those children who are
or will be covered by a custody agreement and court order so does not
include other children living at the home of one parent but who is from
another relationship. These calculation formulas are based upon only
children who live most of the time with one parent under a joint
physical or sole physical custody agreement but do not consider an equal
time sharing arrangement.
